As PhD Science® educators, we know that instructional routines increase student engagement and help make student thinking and learning visible. But how do we provide opportunities for our students to engage in instructional routines when our classroom environments have changed? In this video, you’ll hear from Tori Soileau, regional director of implementation support, and multiple members of the PhD Science Implementation Success team as they discuss ways to integrate instructional routines into a virtual class setting.
Tori Soileau
Prior to joining Great Minds, Tori Soileau was an elementary school classroom teacher in Louisiana public schools. In her last year teaching in the classroom, Tori had the opportunity to pilot PhD Science in her third-grade classroom. Tori’s classroom transformed during the pilot, and students grew in ways that she could not have imagined because of PhD Science. That spring, Tori joined the team as a summer associate to spread her knowledge and passion with other educators through professional development. Tori officially joined Great Minds as a full-time member in May 2019, now serving as the regional director of implementation support. Tori is passionate about supporting districts for a successful implementation, finding solutions for teachers, and helping all students realize they are capable of greatness. She lives in Baton Rouge.
