FOUNDATIONAL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

In this collection of sessions educators new to Eureka Math2 learn how to customize the curriculum to meet the needs of their students. Sessions are designed for both teachers and math leaders to learn how to implement Eureka Math2 with confidence.

Lead: Facilitating Successful Implementation

In this one-day session, Eureka Math2 facilitators introduce school and district leaders to the curriculum and provide guidance on how leaders can best support their teachers during implementation. Educators can choose between a session for Levels K–5 or Level 6–Algebra I.

Launch: Bringing the Curriculum to Life

In this one-day session, teachers who are new to math curriculum from Great Minds will investigate the structure, design, and components of Eureka Math2 while engaging with the curriculum's print and digital resources. Teachers will explore the instructional role of all the curriculum resources (including Eureka Math2 Equip for those who also adopt the premium assessment tool) and be prepared to facilitate lessons with students. Educators can choose between a session for Levels K–5 or Level 6–Algebra I.

Power Up: Transitioning to Eureka Math2

In this one-day session, teachers who are transitioning from Eureka Math to Eureka Math2 will investigate the similarities and differences between the structure, design and components of the two curricula while engaging with the new curriculum's print and digital resources. Teachers will explore the instructional role of all the curriculum resources (including Eureka Math2 Equip for those who have purchased it) and be prepared to facilitate lessons with students. Educators can choose between a session for Levels K–5 or Level 6–Algebra I.

Teach: Effective Instruction with Eureka Math2

This session provides teachers with a process for and practice with effective planning and instruction using the curriculum materials. Planning and preparation will include the Eureka Math2 Equip resources for those who have purchased it. Educators can choose between a session for Levels K–5 or Level 6–Algebra I.

Assess: Embedded Opportunities to Inform Instruction

Teachers explore the entire formative and assessment landscape of Eureka Math2 and practice using each of them to understand students' areas of strength and progress toward proficiency, and to plan for responsive instruction. They will engage with assessments and reports on the digital platform, including Eureka Math2 Equip for those who have purchased it. Assessments are significantly different between grades/grade bands and are thus broken into smaller grade-band sessions. Educators can choose between a session for Levels K–2, Levels 3–5, or Level 6–Algebra I.

SUSTAINING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Seasoned practitioners who have completed the foundational courses can deepen their understanding of the curriculum and strengthen their implementation through this advanced coursework.

Inspire: Discourse, Engagement and Identity

Discourse is foundational to students making sense of mathematics, gaining confidence in contributing to the collective learning of their classroom, and developing identities as mathematical thinkers. In this session, teachers will dive deeper into embedded opportunities to promote student discourse and hone their practice around effectively facilitating instructional routines, promoting the Standards for Math Practice, and leading effective class discussions. Educators can choose between a session for Levels K–5 or Level 6–Algebra I.

Adapt: Optimizing Instruction

Teachers will build upon the framework from "Teach: Effective Instruction with Eureka Math2" to further develop their capacity to effectively use the curriculum materials and student data to plan for and deliver instruction. The session is content-heavy and is thus broken into smaller grade-band sessions. Educators can choose between a session for Levels K–2, Levels 3–5, or Level 6–Algebra I.

Special Focus: Continuous and Unfinished Learning

In addition to our Foundational and Sustaining track of learning, Eureka Math2 writers have created new sessions as educators tackle the special learning circumstances of the last year.

Accelerate: Access Grade-Level Content by Using Eureka Math2Equip*

This session is intended for districts that purchase Eureka Math2 Equip after participating in any of the first three recommended sessions. Teachers will learn how to use Eureka Math2 Equip effectively to address students' unfinished learning and give all students access to grade-level content. Educators can choose between a session for Levels 1–5 or Level 6–Algebra I.

*Coming Summer 2023. This session is for users whose school or district did not initially purchase Eureka Math2 Equip as a part of their Eureka Math2 bundle.
