Launch: Bringing Eureka Math2 to Life
Teachers new to math curriculum will investigate the structure, design, and components of Eureka Math2 while engaging with the curriculum's print and digital resources. Teachers will explore the instructional role of all the curriculum resources and be prepared to facilitate lessons with students.
This session provides guidance for how and why to teach Module 0, a six-lesson module that orients teachers and students to Wit & Wisdom and helps create a community of readers and writers.
A successful Wit & Wisdom implementation requires a deep understanding of the curriculum components and how to access them. This session highlights key lesson components and module resources that are available.
This session helps educators develop an understanding of a fundamental aspect of Wit & Wisdom’s learning design—its unique process for reading complex texts.
This session helps educators better understand the Implementation Guide by identifying discrete segments to read, aligning those segments with topics critical to implementation success, and providing study questions and actions that support understanding and application of the reading.
To make the most of Wit & Wisdom, teachers must internalize the curriculum before implementation. Wit & Wisdom’s preparation protocols support this internalization as teachers build an understanding of the curriculum’s "what" and "why", helping them effectively use lesson materials and plan logistics, as well as pace and scaffold instruction.
This session explains how multilingual learner supports are built into Wit & Wisdom lessons. Participants will also get an overview of the curriculum's Multilingual Learner Resource available for Grades K–5.
The session explains how explicit writing instruction drives the craft stages in Wit & Wisdom as well as discuss how writing models and daily writing activities support students in their skill development.
Please have your print or digital Teach book and any applicable handouts available for each session.
NOTE: These sessions will not be recorded.
