At Great Minds®, we believe students should have access to coherent, knowledge-building instructional materials as soon as they begin elementary school. That’s why we’re offering all four modules of PhD Science K–2 as free open educational resource (OER) PDFs.

PhD Science is a K–5 curriculum in which real-world phenomena anchor the learning as students build enduring knowledge about the real world and its everyday wonders. Students develop their understanding of science concepts through a coherent, phenomenon-based storyline. Students learn to think and act like real scientists as they engage in hands-on investigations and three-dimensional learning.

Additional PhD Science Components

The OER includes downloadable PDFs of the Teacher Editions and Science Logbooks. We have additional paid components to help supplement your implementation, including pre-sourced hands-on materials kits and trade books (core texts) that support or explain the science while giving students an opportunity to practice and strengthen literacy skills.

Printed and bound Teacher Editions and Science Logbooks are also available per module. To further support Levels K–2, Knowledge Deck™ cards and posters are also strongly recommended for effective implementation. The Knowledge Deck combines carefully crafted informational text with eye-catching images on consumable cards for the students and non-consumable posters for the classroom.
