At a Glance Eureka Math2 offers Exit Tickets, Topic Quizzes, Module Assessments, Performance Assessments, and Observational Assessments—all assignable on the digital platform. Use the scoring and reporting tools to quickly see who needs support and what to do next.

Eureka Math2 includes a layered assessment system designed to give you continuous insight into student understanding without adding extra work to your day. Each assessment type serves a different purpose, and together they build a complete picture of student growth over time.

Exit Tickets (Grades 1–Alg 1): Every lesson includes one—a short, ungraded formative task to gauge student understanding. Use it to sort students into “Got It,” “Almost Got It,” and “Not Yet” groups to plan next steps. This simple sorting routine is one of the most actionable data tools in the curriculum.

Note: In grades 1 and 2, the last lesson in each topic includes a Topic Ticket instead.

Topic Quizzes (Grades 3–Alg 1): Use these for grading or formative checks. Multiple versions are available for easy retakes, which means you can reassess without students seeing the same questions.

Module Assessments: End-of-module tests assess cumulative understanding. Starting in grade 3, multiple versions are available. Kindergarten uses an interview-style format that captures mathematical thinking through conversation.

Performance Assessments (All Grades): Six real-world tasks per grade assess both content knowledge and mathematical practices. Rubrics and guides are available on the digital platform under Module Resources.

Observational Assessments (Grades K–2): Use Observational Assessment Recording Sheets (OARS) to track progress in real time during daily instruction. These are especially valuable in the early grades where written assessments don’t capture the full picture of what students know.

Note: All written assessments are available in English and Spanish.

How to Assign, Score, and Reopen

  • Assign: Select the assessment you’d like to use and choose Assign in the top-right corner. From there, fill out a quick form to set your preferences.
  • Score: Once a student completes the assessment, you can review and score their work directly on the platform. Use the provided rubrics—especially for open-ended and performance tasks—to evaluate student thinking.
  • Reopen: Need a student to retry? Select Review on the assignment, open the More options menu (three dots on the right), and select Reopen.
