Eureka Math PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Great Minds®️ has designed a range of professional development resources to support schools and districts as they implement Eureka Math®. These invaluable sessions are led by our teacher-writers and experts who draw on their experience and expertise to help participants prepare for, and sustain, successful implementation. We encourage new and experienced Eureka Math teachers, coaches, and leaders to participate in professional development to make sure they’re getting the most out of the curriculum.

Implementing Eureka Math

We now offer virtualEureka Math professional development, inspired by the same learning design and goals as our in-person PD. Virtual PD is not just an online course; rather, it consists of live, facilitator-led sessions that are designed to fit your teacher’s needs.

Virtual Private PD

Come together with educators from your school or district for a private PD session. Great Minds facilitators will work with up to 35 participants in a distance learning environment.

Virtual Coaching

Sign up for virtual coaching for tips on how to help your teachers effectively implement Eureka Math.

Virtual Open Enrollment

Join educators from around the country for an open enrollment virtual PD session. Designed for 20–35 participants, sessions are led by two Great Minds facilitators. View the schedule and sign up for a session at the link below.

“Professional development is the key. Once they've (teachers) bought in and see what their students can do, it has a flywheel effect. Other teachers say, ‘I want that for my kids too.’”

Lead Eureka Math for Grades K–12

Lead Eureka Math is designed for administrators. It is a balance of study, experiential learning, analysis, and practice. The session covers important topics that will help administrators support the successful implementation of Eureka Math.

Major Work of the Grade Band for Grades K–2

In this session, educators already implementing the curriculum deepen their understanding of fundamental mathematics. This session showcases the coherence of addition and subtraction as participants explore the development of those operations across the K–2 grade band.

Major Work of the Grade Band for Grades 3–5

This session engages participants in studying the progression of multiplication and division in Eureka Math from Grade 3–5. Participants will experience, analyze, and practice the language and models used to help students understand and develop skill with multiplication and division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

Major Work of the Grade Band for Grades 6–8

In this session, participants develop their understanding of the instructional sequence that builds up to the introduction of functions in Grade 8. This session traces the trajectory of content from ratios to properties of similar triangles. Further, the session shows the progression of those concepts, highlighting where they intersect and providing participants with a deep understanding of why the slope of a line is well defined.

Solving Word Problems for Grades K–5

In this session, participants explore how to effectively model and teach word problems by using math drawings. Participants will also analyze and practice teaching sequences from the curriculum that move students toward solving increasingly complex problems, including multi-step problems.

Solving Word Problems for Grades 6–12

In this session, participants explore how to effectively model and teach the tape diagram as a tool for supporting algebraic fluency with expressions and equations. The study and practice of solving word problems further reveals the coherence of the curriculum and how our models support student learning across the grades.

Continuous Learning with Eureka Math in Sync: A Story of Units, Grades PK–5

In this session, participants study how to effectively support students in a continuous learning model that allows teachers to toggle between classroom and at-home instruction for Grades PK–5. The session shows how Eureka Math products support teachers, students, and families with learning materials, video content, and guidance to create effective learning communities regardless of physical distance.
