Teach

With each module's Teach book, also known as the Teacher Edition, teachers will find an overview of the module, lesson planning notes, and margin notes that provide information on scaffolding, differentiation, supporting multilingual learners, and more.
Exclusively for New York, the Teach books also include new embedded supports for delivering standards-aligned instruction, including:
- Supplemental Instructional Guidance that provides suggestions for instructional decisions specific to the new math standards,
- Module Achievement Descriptors that provide standards-aligned descriptions detailing what students should know and be able to do,
- Module Achievement Descriptor Charts identifying where all pre- and post-test standards are taught throughout a module.
Learn

The Learn book includes student materials for in-class work. Within the Learn students will find:
- Lesson Pages that students use during the guided or directed portion of the lesson,
- Problem Sets for independent practice during the lesson, with problems organized from simple to complex, and
- Exit Tickets that provide a brief, formative assessment of key learning in the lesson.
Apply

The Apply book helps students deepen their understanding of the concepts they learned in class through practice at home. Apply has three unique components:
- Family Math is a letter describing the major concepts in the current topic
- Additional Practice is a collection of problems for students to work on at home which interweave and distribute practice, and
- Practice Partners takes students through the thinking of a hypothetical partner who is solving problems similar to those found in Additional Practice.
Apply books are for Levels 1–5. Family Math has been included in the Learn book for Level K.
"The two biggest elements of Eureka Math2 for my teachers are that lessons and problem sets are accessible for everyone-it's not as language-based as other curriculum, making content accessible especially for our students with disabilities. It's also an easy curriculum to teach. Teacher guides are accessible and everything is in one place, unlike other curricula we looked at. There are more opportunities for hands on activities with manipulatives."

A Look Inside Teach
Embedded Support for Standards-Aligned Instruction
ACHIEVEMENT DESCRIPTORS
Achievement Descriptors (ADs) are standards-aligned descriptions detailing what students should know and be able to do based on instruction in the module.
Achievement Descriptors tell you what students should know.
PROFICIENCY INDICATORS
Each Achievement Descriptor has its own set of Proficiency Indicators that help teachers analyze and evaluate what they see or hear in the classroom or what they see in each student's written work.
Proficiency Indicators tell you what knowing looks like.
SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONAL GUIDANCE
Also within the Teach book is Supplemental Instructional Guidance that provides direction specific to New York State for omitting, replacing, or adding activities based on the New York State Next Generation Math Standards.
PRE- & POST-TEST STANDARDS
Teach also includes Module Achievement Descriptor Charts for teachers to quickly identify when and where all Pre- and Post-Test Standards are taught throughout a module.
The curriculum was thoughtfully designed to teach all pre-test modules before Module 6 and most post-test modules in Module 6.
Any post-test standards taught in Modules 1–5 include a "Why" question explaining the rationale of their placement.
STANDARDS FOR MATHEMATICAL PRACTICE
The Standards for Mathematical Practice are woven into every Eureka Math2 New York Next Gen lesson. Through explicit instruction and student-driven tasks, students are consistently applying Mathematical Practices to their daily work to build an enduring understanding of math.

A Look Inside Learn and Apply
Making Mathematics More Accessible and Readable Without Compromising Rigor
LEARN PROBLEM SETS (K–8)
Each K–8 lesson in the Learn workbook includes a Problem Set organized from simple to complex that provides students with ample independent practice and opportunities for teacher feedback.
Designed to be differentiated, teachers can assign problems of different complexities to students according to their needs.
READABILITY WITH RIGOR (K–2)
To empower students of all reading abilities to access rigorous, grade-level content independently, the Learn and Apply workbooks use high-frequency words, familiar phoneme patterns, and highly-readable names in directions and word problems. Visual supports are also included for words that are not easily accessible.
APPLY PRACTICE PROBLEMS (1–5)
The Apply workbooks include additional supports and opportunities for students to further develop their skills through additional practice problems similar to the Problem Set.
Each Apply book contains Practice Partners that show problems like those worked in class and an example of the thinking that helps students solve these problems.
FAMILY MATH (K–5)
The Apply workbooks also include Family Math, a letter to families that describes the major concepts, models, and terminology their student is learning to deepen their understanding of the grade-level content.
